Why do you get training for most aspects of a job, but if you’re asked to do a bit of sales here and there, the coaching disappears?
It’s all about aligning company goals so everyone is on the same page. If the marketing team is singing from one hymn sheet, sales from another and management is in a different chapter altogether, it’s not going to work.
This comes with time, practice and of course, training.
Time to say goodbye to the old rhetoric that sales is a skill that just can’t be taught, because it can. Everyone has their own ways, it’s just about refining it.
